Matt's New Job

Matt started his new job yesterday and loves it!
He is in a group of 14 new hires and is standing out as the "car guy" already.
We went shopping for him this weekend and got him some new khakis and some nice brown shoes. He looked adorable on his first day and it's so nice to see him enjoying work again!

Yawn!

Photos from Vegas

This is the hotel that we stayed at.

This is at the Bellagio. These are ALL flowers. It was amazing!

In front of a fountain at Caesar's Palace, you can see the Bellagio in the background.

All in all it was a very fun trip! We watched the bellagio fountains every night which is my favorite part of Vegas. Plus I made a lot of good contacts for work while I was out there. :)

Viva Las Vegas!

Well, we both made it to Vegas for the SEMA show. It is a lot of fun out here! I am making some really good contacts and Matt is getting some good information for work. We'll be here till Friday and then it is back to normal life. I will try to post some photos when we get back.
See ya!

Go Tigers!

Not even a month and already he is leaving me! :)
Matt and his friend Ben are going to the Tigers/Yankees game this Friday in Detroit!
He is really excited about it so I am very happy for him. I am not sure what I am going to do in my spare time yet. Maybe I will paint, maybe take some photos, maybe sew a little? Most likely I will stay at home and play with my fat cats.

Fatso and Ollifur

Well, the cats went to the vet today... Both are huge cats and both are going on diets tonight. I am not looking forward to the lack of sleep I will get tonight. Milo weighed in at 16lbs this morning, Ollie at 13. It is going to be a struggle, that's for sure. Matt and I have gotten most things taken care of around the house, have unpacked most of our presents and are starting to relax a little. We will be in Vegas from Oct. 30 - Nov. 3rd for the SEMA show. Matt goes to look at all the new car stuff and I go for Britten and try to get people to buy our banners! :)
Hope everything is fine with all of you and we will look forward to getting more cd's of photos! :)

12 Days to go!

Wow! I know I keep saying this but I can't believe how fast this summer has gone! I knew it would though, and I was prepared for it. I have almost everything done for the wedding so this last week should just be a lot of fun! I just got out of a meeting with my lady at the Waterfront and we have everything set now for that. Matt's job has officially moved into the new building on Barlow so he is enjoying that! He had to work late every night last week to move everything but I was working late every night to get my huge job out the door so it was just the cats who missed us! :) I am glad that things have started to slow down a bit at work before I leave, I just hope I can get this Disney job out the door!
See you all in 12 days!!!

Wedding Locations!

A lot of people have asked me where the wedding is at or where the reception is at..
Here are some links to check out...

Wedding - Presbyterian Church, TC.

Reception - Waterfront Conference Center, TC.

My Shower

Here are some photos from my shower last weekend... It was such a blast! It was hawaiian themed! :) There was a contest to see who could design a dress with toilet paper that looked the most like my dress. Which one do you think looks the closest?

It's already Friday?!

Our busy times continued this week with another Pipeband concert. This week's concert was at the Grand Traverse Pavilions in Traverse City. The concert went pretty good! We were able to be in the shade the whole concert so that was nice.
Last weekend he had two gigs... one was the Alpinfest (shown below)

We only have one more gig till the week of the wedding so I will finally have some time to get the small details taken care of. I can't believe there are only 49 more days left! I only have 49 more days of being a Holcombe! I better go get some stuff done!

Holy Cow!

Everyone has told me that these last few months would go by fast but WOW! We finally sent out invitations yesterday....and my first dress fitting is next week. It seems every day I have something to work on for the wedding. None of it is stressful yet, just amazing how fast the time is going. It's a good thing we have that hot tub at our apartment complex now. What a great way to relax! This weekend we have two more band gigs. Saturday is the Gaylord Alpinefest and Sunday we play at the Presbyterian church in Beulah. Looks to be another busy weekend!!

2 Months left!

Holy cow did that go fast! Matt and I have been swamped lately and are really looking forward to rest time (whenever that might come to us). We just got back from the U.P. trip that we do every year over the 4th of July. It was a VERY long weekend for us with many gigs. As always though it was nice to play with the band. We also played Macinac Island a few weeks ago. Here is a photo of us with Ernie on the boat ride back to the main land.
Here is another photo of us on the boat...

I am going to pick up my wedding dress today! Hope it fits!!! I promise it won't be another month before I post again. :)

3 Months left!

I can't believe we only have 3 months left till our wedding! I just relized how close it was last week. It's a good thing I have my invitations almost done. I'm not supposed to send them out till the two month mark though, so don't worry that you haven't recieved yours yet :)
Our trip to Alma was great! Our drum corps took 3rd place in the Saturday competition! It didn't rain the whole time but it was 90s and humid the whole time which I think might be worse. Here is Matt and I at the end of the day on Sunday. Can you tell how hot we are?

Busy Season

Well, the Pipe band kicked off it's summer tour today with our first gig of the season.. the NMC BBQ. It was a little below freezing if you ask me, but I am told it was actually just a little ABOVE freezing (low 40s.) It was pretty cold any way you look at it! By the end of the show my hands were soooo cold that I couldn't even flourish any more. Plus during the breaks between songs I was doing a little dance that I am sure made people think that I had to go to the bathroom. Oh well, it kept my knees warm! :)
We continue our summer tour 06 with our annual stop at the Alma Highland Festival to compete with other bagpipe bands from around our great country next weekend. I will post our whole schedule up this week so you will be able to see where else we will be around this great state.
Thanks to everyone for coming out and watching us play today!

Everybody... meet Ellie!

This is Ellie, my new Honda Element and Jimmy my old Blazer.
Say good-bye to Jimmy! :(

Ellie is VERY spacious and we can eve fit the bass drum inside the very back without putting down either of the back seats!

Yes, we are at Meijer... Where else would we be??
We had to get groceries tonight and I wanted to get some pictures before the sun went all the way down.

Hope you enjoyed the photos and don't call my car ugly! :)

Happy Birthday Matthew!!

Today is, as you all know, Matt's Birthday!
Ollie gave Matt his birthday present last night by sleeping on his lap for a little over an hour!
Ollie has NEVER cuddled on Matt before so we were both shocked when he decided to take a nap on him last night.

Matt spent most of his day and last night playing computer games with Chris so he definitely has had a lot of fun.

Happy Birthday Matthew!!

I'm alive!

Well, I made it back from Indianapolis alright. I was there from Thursday - Saturday for the SEMA Offroad tradeshow. It was very productive for me to go as I made a lot of good contacts. The seven hour drive was a little long but my hotel room was wonderful so it was worth it. I missed Matt and the cats the whole time but was greeted with a warm welcome home from all Saturday night (the cats slept next to me all night!). I'm glad that I won't have to be leaving them again for a while.....

Don't forget Matt's 26th Birthday on Monday, April 3rd!

Another St. Patty's day come and gone...

Well, Matt and I made it through another St. Patrick's day alive and well. It was a great time as always with the bagpipe band, but I am glad it only comes once a year. Otherwise I don't think my body could take it!
Poor Matt had to work the next day while I got my massage. I only schedule a massage once a year and it is always the day after St. Patrick's day! We got to see a lot of friends during the Pub Crawl so that made the day go by a lot smoother. It's nice to see a familiar face in a crowd full of drunken idiots! :) Thanks all for coming out and visiting with us, even if it was for a minute! :)
