Long time, no post!

So Happy Thanksgiving!
We just bought a little Yorkie pup that is keeping us very busy these days. Her name is Piper and she is just now 3 months old and weighs in at 1.7lbs.

We've also been working on the dining room... and have painted the cabinets/shelves white and installed hard wood flooring. That is also where we set up our Christmas Tree tonight. I am really starting to get into the holiday spirit and can't wait till Christmas. Matt and I got most of our shopping done on Friday when we got in line at Target a little after 3am and waited till they opened at 6am. It was COLD but worth it! :)

Long time, no post!

Well, we've been really busy lately!
We've had a lot of band gigs all over Michigan and we've completed a lot of our house projects. The best one is our brick patio...

After:

There are a few more things to do around that area before it is completely done, but it was nice to get that area cleaned up!

We also worked quite a bit on the downstairs bathroom and living room. I will post photos soon. :)
Hope all is well with all of you!

Busy Weekend #3

Man I love summer! Here is what we did this weekend. :)
It was nice to cross some things off my summer to do list!

New Photos!

I went for a bike ride with my Mom and planted my flowers this weekend after Matt transplanted the burning bush from the garden area to in front of the living room window. While we were riding our bikes we found a stand that was giving away free bike helmets (!!) so I got one and so did Michael. Here are some photos... :)
Also, my surgery (sinus) went very well and we are making progress on recovery. There have only been a few nights where it has hurt REAL bad since I got the stints out.

Memorial Weekend!

Yippy! Memorial Weekend is upon us again. A weekend where gas prices are so high that you can't afford to go anywhere, so we all clean house and ride our bikes. Matt and I will be playing at the Alma Highland Games again this year (as we do every year over Memorial weekend). I fear the money I will spend on gas, just to get to the middle of the state! Memorial weekend has another meaning to TC, it is the celebration we have before all of the Fudgies come into town and add 10 minutes to our commutes. Our city will no longer belong to us till Labor Day. Here is my list of things to do this summer:

1. Ride my bike from my home to "Pluto" on the TART trail.
2. Picnic on a beach at a small lake.
3. Grow something pretty in my garden.
4. Paint my basement Living Room.
5. Play with sparklers.
6. Go Canoeing.
7. Eat ice-cream and walk downtown.
8. Wash the outside of my house.
9. Visit Chicago.
10. Play tennis! (not just on the Wii)
11. Play Croquet in my backyard.
12. Have a BBQ party at our new home, complete with tiki torches and Jimmy Buffett music!

House Update

Here is an update of the spare bedroom and the work we have been doing in it. Also, the big bushes in front are gone and will soon be replaced. :)

Busy Weekend! :)

Weekend Trip

Well, I don't know how they did it, but I was out of the house all weekend. :)
We took a trip downstate to see Rachel (our niece) this weekend. She is adorable and it was a lot of fun! Here are some of the photos I took of her this weekend.

Rachel Visit

We just found out that we are not going to play the NMC BBQ after all this year. I am pretty sad about that. It is one of my favorite gigs to play in the area. We will still show up and enjoy the BBQ, and Matt might have his car in a car show at the civic center. We will be in town all day so if you are too, give us a call and maybe we can do lunch! :)

Busy Weekend! :)

So Matt installed a new dishwasher in our house this weekend and a new garbage disposal, so I don't have to hand wash our large plates anymore! :)

For those of you who don't know, our old dishwasher was so old that our dinner plates (which aren't oddly large or anything) wouldn't fit in it, so I had to wash them all by hand. It was kind of like a diet because we were forced to use smaller plates which don't hold as much food. :)

We also got our yard cleaned up this weekend. I entered into a battle of epic proportions with a rose bush, it won the battle, I won the war! Snip, snip, ha!

We also had our first band gig of the summer this weekend. It went good, and suggest any who can come out and watch us play, do. How often do you get to see guys in kilts?!

Hope everyone is well!

The days fly by.....

So we are starting to get used to our new surroundings....
I've started to paint and Matt has started fixing and updating things little by little.
This weekend is supposed to be nice, so I am going to finish painting the downstairs bedroom and rake our yard. I think Matt is going to be moving furniture over and arranging our downstairs family room. It should be another good, back breaking weekend! :)
Band practice is back in session as well. Our first gig is next weekend at Short's brewery in Bellaire. If you get a chance, stop by and say hi! :)

New Photo

I call it.. "Where is Milo?" :)
My physical therapist tells me I am at about 80% recovery from my ankle incident which is great and just in time for the band to be getting in gear. Our first gig is the NMC BBQ on May 20th in TC. Come and watch us if you get a chance. The weekend after that we will be in Alma competing at the Highland Games. The house is still standing and we are slowly getting everything unpacked and in it's new home. I never knew we had so much stuff! How I fit it all in a one bedroom apartment I will never know.

Update

Well, my ankle is still sore, but getting better. I am able to walk on it a little today with out my crutches! I keep telling myself I will be good enough to join the band on pub crawl Friday, but we will see. Also, Matt and I close on the house tomorrow!! I will be there all day tomorrow cleaning. Wish me luck! :)

Ouch!

So I sprained my ankle today and popped some ligaments. I was just getting out of my chair at work and stepped on my foot wrong. It was really quite stupid and might put a damper on our moving and pub crawl plans. I did get some good pain medicine though, so I am feeling a little better. :)

Long time, no blog!

Sorry for the long delay in posting. Matt and I have been pretty busy lately. Matt is really getting in to his new job, and enjoying the fact that he isn't on the floor underneath a dripping car installing a remote start in a cold garage. He has completed all of his training now and is taking customer calls all day. I have been busy at work too! I've had a couple of large jobs come in this month that I wasn't expecting which is keeping me on my toes.
In cat news, Ollie got another hair ball so we are currently working on getting that to pass. It's pretty hard to give Ollie soft food and not Milo. Milo keeps looking at us like we are neglecting him so we gave him a can of soft food last night too!
We found a new house that we are trying to buy. It's amazing how stubborn people are! We put in an offer on this house and the people didn't even counter offer, they just called our agent and said they were only willing to go down $3,000 from the list price. You have to wonder if these people are watching the market.
Well, that's all that is going on in our lives right now. Hopefully next time I post I can tell you that we just signed an agreement to buy a house! :)
