Mac Island

Great day on Mac Island today.  Got to enjoy tea at the Grand Hotel with Mrs. Risk while Matt played the concert and then shopped for a while and watched the parade.  Now on our way home to the animals! :)

Husband and I are currently in one of the nicest hotel rooms on Mackinaw City (a hot tub room at that!), getting ready for Mackinac Island tomorrow.  Played a round of put-put golf this afternoon, did a little shopping, and even got old timey photos taken.  How blessed I am to have such a wonderful husband.

Busy weekend ahead

Heading down to Alma this afternoon for the Alma Highland Games.  This will be my first year going without playing my drum.  I wonder if it will be more fun or less fun.  We'll see!

Crowded Chair

Sitting in the living room, watching good tv. Dog across my stomach, cat across my lap. It's very furry here. Very warm. Life is good. Except Matt being out of town tonight. :(

Ahhh Spring...

Loving the warm weather we are having and staying busy cleaning out the flower beds. Matt is going to be traveling a lot for work and the pipe band in the next few weeks so I've got my to do list pretty full to keep me busy.
Piper made a new best friend next door. A beautiful Golden Retriever named Tucker. :) Watching them play together is hilarious! Every time we go in the back yard now she runs full speed over to see if he is out to play. The chain link fence separates them so he can't hurt her and they just run back and forth licking noses. I'll try to grab a photo next time.
Took 4 trees out of our backyard a couple weeks ago so now we are on to step two of Operation Backyard which is putting up the new privacy fence. Piper will be so sad. :(

Elephant

Some time in my life I would like to pet a baby elephant. I'm not sure how it is going to happen but I would like to add it to my bucket list. If anyone ever gets a chance to be near a baby elephant, please bring me. :)

Pathetic Piper..

I don't eat turds...

A friend asked me today if I know a good source for grass fed beef as opposed to grain fed beef since with my allergy I can't eat wheat. I told him quite frank, "I don't eat turds." He didn't understand so I drew him this photo...


The cow eats grass or wheat (green and tan) and it goes through his organs (black line) and out the other side (brown). He absorbs nutrients through his digestion, not partials of what he chews. I eat the meat (red)around the organs, not the turds. :)
